San Francisco Loft Developments
Historically, finding a loft in San Francisco meant limiting your home search to the primarily industrial, yet up-and-coming, District 9 neighborhoods of South of Market, Yerba Buena, South Beach, Potrero Hill, Bernal Heights, Mission Bay, and Central Waterfront/Dogpatch. However, the increased popularity of these modernist homes has seen loft development projects extend across the entire city.

The largest pool of "traditional" lofts as well as soft loft condominiums and San Francisco penthouse lofts can be found in the neighborhoods of SoMa, Yerba Buena, Mission Bay, and South Beach. With more than 50 distinct loft projects (with newer developments going up almost monthly), prospective city loft dwellers should not overlook these areas. Along with great living spaces, the neighborhoods of South Beach, Yerba Buena, SoMa, and Mission Bay offer convenient access to San Francisco nightlife, shopping, and public transportation.
Lofts and condominiums aren’t limited, however, to the Central East part of the city. Other San Francisco neighborhoods with popular residential loft and condo developments include the Mission, Hayes Valley, North Panhandle, Van Ness/Civic Center, Downtown, Jackson Square, North Beach, and the Marina. Be sure to explore District 5, District 6, District 7, and District 8 for more information regarding each of these distinct San Francisco neighborhoods. Additionally, for those looking for lofts outside of San Francisco, we would encourage you to explore lofts for sale in the East Bay.
