District 1 San Francisco

Tucked up in the northwestern corner of San Francisco is a culturally diverse area that is officially designated as District 1 (Northwest).  Often referred to as the Richmond District, District 1 is best known by its neighborhoods; Sea Cliff, Jordan Park/Laurel Heights, Lake, Outer Richmond, Central Richmond, and Inner Richmond.  Each of these neighborhoods has a distinct personality, and housing ranges from modest single-family homes, to sleek condominiums, to gracious properties looking out over the Pacific Ocean.

Surrounded by parks and open spaces, the Richmond District is convenient to many recreational activities.  Sea Cliff real estate shares a zip code with the golf course at Lincoln Park, and Outer Richmond residents can enjoy hiking at Land's End or strolling along the beach.  The neighborhoods of Lake Street and Laurel Heights are just minutes away from golf or jogging at the Presidio, and Golden Gate Park borders the entire district to the south. 

While the Richmond District neighborhoods are predominately residential, full of turn-of-the-century Edwardians, modern apartments, and charming stucco houses, most have easy access to shopping and dining.  Laurel Heights has a busy shopping area, complete with a supermarket and specialty shops; and the Richmond neighborhoods are filled with ethnic restaurants and small specialty markets.
