Diamond Heights Real Estate
Located in San Francisco District 4, the Diamond Heights neighborhood is situated on a predominantly flat hilltop near the center of San Francisco County. A low-key residential neighborhood, Diamond Heights was primarily developed during the late 1950s-1970s and consists primarily of single-family homes and apartment buildings. The neighborhood is also well-known for its tract of approximately 100 mid-century modern Eichler homes which were designed by progressive architect Claude Oakland and built by post-war real estate developer Joseph Eichler.
The physical location of Diamond Heights provides many of its residents with views of the city, East Bay, Pacific Ocean, and surrounding hills. Additionally, residents of Diamond Heights enjoy convenient access to public transportation (Muni & BART), shopping (Diamond Heights Shopping Center), and relatively affordable Bay Area real estate. Bordering neighborhoods include Midtown Terrace to the north, Noe Valley to the east, Glen Park to the south, and Miraloma Park to the west.

Diamond Heights Neighborhood Homes
San Francisco's Diamond Heights neighborhood is predominantly residential with a small commercial corridor serving the needs of its residents. While Diamond Heights is located in the geographic center of San Francisco, the area has a laid back, suburban feel.
Bay Area home buyers with a passion for mid-century modern residential architecture frequently gravitate to real estate in Diamond Heights. Single-family Eichler homes "in the city" typically represent a major draw for the area. Unfortunately, there were only about 100 Eichler homes built in Diamond Heights so inventory is fairly tight.
